PTCOG-AO
Asia-Oceania Particle Therapy Cooperative Group (PTCOG-AO) was established in 2019 with the primary objective of facilitating the optimal utilization of particle therapy for patients across the Asian-Oceanian region. This objective is pursued through a harmonized collaboration among specialists in particle therapy. PTCOG-AO is dedicated to fostering the establishment and maintenance of common standards in particle therapy, thereby ensuring the provision of high-quality treatment.
As of December 2023, sixty-six member institutes from eleven countries have participated in PTCOG-AO, with anticipation of further participation from over fifteen institutions intending to introduce particle therapy programs. With the region’s substantial population, high cancer rate, and growing healthcare infrastructure, Asia-Oceania stands poised to become a significant contributor to the field of particle therapy. In light of these developments, PTCOG-AO anticipates playing a pivotal role in advancing particle therapy within the Asia-Oceania region.
